Brothers, Paradox win big at Dataspelsgalan
Last night, movers and shakers within the Swedish games industry converged for a celebration of the achievements of their peers over the past year for what has been another groundbreaking year. In recent years, the event has courted criticism for seemingly catering to publishers and retailers and less so on developers.
This has so far failed to dampen the feel good vibe of the event, with the classy, but low key event still capable of bringing together key decision makers together for an evening of fine dining and questionable award categories.
From a purely Swedish perspective, Josef Fares captivating indie vehicle, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was a deserved winner of the Swedish game of the year, whilst both Martin Sirc and Paradox Interactive earned well and long overdue recognition for their contributions within the industry winning an Honorary award and the Special Grand Jury award respectively. Indie hearthrobs, Simogo also took home the Game app of the year award for Year Walk.
