An event with designs to change the world through the medium of videogames is the driving force of a new Danish game jam. The event which hopes to bring together 100 participants over the course of two days plans to focus on three main criteria split into two tracks; Board Games and Video Games:
- Games that touch upon political, environmental or social issues
- A specific theme revealed at the event
- An optional cause related to the theme
Speaking to Gameplay, event organizer, Jonas Klemmensen had this to say.
We believe [the] game contains many of the things that makes us able to make new choices, to think in new and creative ways and to challenge the already established beliefs. Games can be seen as a platform where development can take place and therefore it is an interesting way to solve various challenges, including in the real world, “explains Klemmensen’. “We therefore believe that a game jam is the ideal event to challenge developers to think a little differently and maybe give them new insights into their approach to game development.
Game Changer Game Jam will take place from May 2nd to May 4th in Aarhus. For a detailed program and further information on the event head to GCGJ.
