Danish developers of Soccerama, Big Bite Soccer is to shut down its doors permanently. The Copenhagen based independent developer announced the move via their social media channels.

It is with sadness that we have to announce that Big Bite Soccer is shutting down.
The floodlights of the stadiums will be turned off, the footballers will have to retire, as it’s time for us to hang up our boots. The servers will be shut down and Big Bite Soccer will no longer be playable from the 16th of April 2014.

The companys desoluation was also confirmed on the Danish business authority records, which can be viewed here and was a source of immense sadness by the experience team.

It has been a tremendous experience, with lots of highs and lows, and although it’s with great sadness, we walk away with a lot of experience and a feeling that we gave it our best shot.
We would like to thank everybody that has supported us during the development and all of you that played our game. We hope you all enjoyed playing it, as much as we did making it.

The team started work on the Big Bite in 2010, and went into full production when Big Bite Games was founded in May 2011. The team had included staff that had worked on games such as Hitman (IO Interactive), Limbo (Playdead), Longest Journey (Funcom). They now face an uncertain future.
